PRIVATE VAULT FAQ
Understand access, privacy and value.
The vault is designed to reduce the personal information needed to track a precious-metals collection.
Is the GoldPriceNow Private Vault anonymous?
No account, name or email is required. GoldPriceNow stores an opaque vault identifier and inventory data encrypted in your browser. Infrastructure providers may still process technical information such as an IP address, so the service is described as private and account-free rather than guaranteeing complete anonymity.
Can GoldPriceNow read my inventory?
The inventory is encrypted in your browser before it is uploaded. The decryption key remains in the private access link and is not included in the vault request sent to the server.
What happens if I lose the QR code or private link?
GoldPriceNow cannot reconstruct the private access key. Save the recovery pack in a secure location. If both the link and recovery pack are lost, the inventory cannot be recovered.
Can someone edit my inventory if they scan the QR code?
No. The viewing QR opens the encrypted inventory, but editing or deleting it requires the separate management code.
Is the displayed value a dealer offer or appraisal?
No. Values are indicative metal values calculated from the latest available gold and silver spot references. They exclude premiums, testing, refining charges, collectible value, taxes and dealer margin.
Will my private inventory appear in Google?
No. Private vault routes are excluded from search indexing and from the public sitemap. They also use private no-store caching rules.
